Nasi Lemak Kukus

I was invited by OpenRice to Nasi Lemak Kukus last Tuesday and had the best Nasi Lemak I've ever eaten! Unlike the Nasi Lemak we usually eat, packed with either chicken wings, fried fish, eggs, otah and peanuts with ikan bills, Nasi Lemak Kukus is an open concept kitchen, self-served with free flow rice and sambal!

NASI LEMAK KUKUS
908 Upper Thomson Road, Singapore 787111
Price: Approx $5/pax
Opening hours: Tue - Sun 6:00 pm - 3:00 am
Payment Options: Cash Only

What made Nasi Lemak Kukus special is the rice they serve! Instead of the modern boiling method, they steam their rice until it's cooked. So the rice would give off a chewy texture with a really nice coconut fragrance! Making you craving for more after every bite.

Everything is self service there, so you take your plate, and serve your own rice, then followed by the side dishes! The rice is free flow, so you can take as much as you want! But don't take too much lah. Later cannot finish, hahaha.

Something you definitely can not miss is their beef rendang. As quoted by Clint, "Faster try! You'll want to eat some more after taking the first bite!" Because I was so busy trying to get a nice shot of my Nasi Lemak....

I feel like I'm totally in luuurrrveeeeee, lol. The beef rendang is sooooo good! And the curry vege too! I've been a fan of curry vege ever since secondary school days. God, my school serves the best food ok. Probably because nothing else in school was good......

As for the drinks, we got to try the signature Vietnamese Drip Coffee! As the name says, you wait for it to drip finish, stir the coffee and then you're ready to drink it!

And again, I couldn't contain my craves.... I ordered my favourite tehpeng....

With looooadddds of foam! I honestly have no idea how should I explain this. It annoys me when I order tehpeng and they serve me with either too bitter, too sweet, too milky tehpeng.
But Nasi Lemak Kukus serves one of the best tehpeng I've ever ever ever drank!
I should bring UncleTehPeng here someday, XD

Nasi Lemak Kukus serves other food too! Like the ramly burger that me and Clint didn't get to try because we were too full from the Nasi Lemak, :(

And the menu!

I'm missing this place already. I've been bugging Clint to bring me for food again, hahahaha. So if you're hungry in the middle of the night, and stranded around AMK district, visit Nasi Lemak Kukus! It's worth the trip, I guarantee!
